The cam plugs into your car's 12 VDC port, but with a monthly paid Vault subscription and an optional constant power cable, you get Live View--the feed from the camera when the car is parked--and Parking Guard, which alerts you if your parked vehicle is involved in an accident. The Vault subscription also makes it easy to share video. There's even an extra USB-A port for your phone or other device. With 1080p HD video, a 140-degree lens, and Garmin Clarity HDR polarized optics, you'll be able to record crisp video of important details, day and night. Once plugged into your vehicle's power source, the camera continually records and saves video with GPS location, date, and time, so you can just set it and forget it. Get a smartphone alert when your dash cam detects an incident to your parked car or access a live view from your dash cam. This requires a paid Vault subscription, active Wi-Fi connection, and constant power; some vehicles will require use of the optional Constant Power Cable. With a paid Vault subscription and Wi-Fi connectivity, saved video clips are accessible by using the Garmin Drive app on your compatible smartphone.
