The Broadcom 57416 10Gb BASE-T Ethernet Adapters are dual-port 10GBASE-T adapters that are fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3an standard and offer an inexpensive way to use copper wiring for 10 Gb Ethernet. The adapters come in ML2, OCP 3.0, and PCIe low-profile form factors. A cheap entry point into the 10 Gb Ethernet market is 10GBASE-T. Transceivers and fiber optic cabling are not required if you use regular UTP twisted pair wiring. The OCP and ML2 adapters can communicate with the server's onboard service processor using the Network Controller Sideband Interface (NC-SI). This support makes it possible to share the network interface with the operating system and the service processor, doing away with the need for a separate management network.
